Most of the sleep sacks on sale in United States are made of one layer of fleece fabric.  The problem with that is fleece is too warm for summer, yet not warm enough for winter.  SilkSac solves that problem by having a removal silk batting.

Another difference is that fleece is 100% polyester, a man made material, while SilkSac   is make of 100% cotton with 100% silk floss filling, which is 100% natural and hypoallergenic.

About Silk Filling

Similar to the idea of a silk filled comforters, SilkSac is filled with mulberry silk floss instead of the traditional polyester fill.  Not only is it 100% natural, it has a lot of great advantages to human body.
The silk batting is filled with layers of silk floss.  Silk floss is obtained from silkworm cocoons that are softened in water, and manually hand stretched into thin layers, which are then placed on top of each other to form the batting.
The outer shell of a silk batting is made from 100% cotton fabric.  SilkSation chooses to use cotton fabric shell because cotton is another natural material that blends very well with the silk floss inside.  In addition, it is very practical and economical for everyday use.
