Omnibus is the traditional name for horse-drawn urban public transport. After the appearance of various engines in the second half of the 19th century, inventors were looking for the possibility of transporting a cart with their help. Thus, carriages with steam, gasoline and electric engines appeared on the roads. We present to your attention a model of an electric omnibus produced in 1901 in Moscow for hotel service.
The closed cabin could accommodate about ten passengers. An electric motor was installed in the middle of the crew. The drive chain, made like a bicycle chain, transmitted rotation from the engine to the rear wheels. The steering and open driver's seat were in front. Both front wheels rotated around a common axis, like the wheels of horse-drawn carriages. Heavy batteries were located under the floor of the passenger compartment.
No cutting tools or glue are required to assemble the model. The parts have already been cut out and you just need to take them out of a sheet of cardboard and connect them together.
Assembled cardboard model made in 1/43 scale. Vehicle models are often performed on this scale. Although the wheels of the model do not rotate, this does not spoil the experience, the neatly assembled model looks impressive and realistic. The volumetric texture made on the outer surface of the parts makes it especially attractive. During the assembly process, it is interesting to look at the details from the inside. After finishing work on the model, it will be possible to look inside only through the windows.

Parts made of double cardboard (thickness 1.0 mm) The folds are pre-marked with notches, the cardboard is folded in one direction only. If during bending there is no material resistance, and the notch line is revealed, then the bend is being performed correctly.

Assembly Description
The main material of the model is 1.0 mm thick double-sided cardboard. All fold lines are pre-prepared, parts are bent along a notch. Attention! Correctly bending a part made of such a cardboard can only be in one direction. If you try to bend the part incorrectly, you will feel the resistance of the material. In the correct direction, the cardboard is bent without effort, while the notch on the fold line opens and becomes wider. When assembling, keep in mind that the side of the part with a volumetric texture should be visible from the outside. Work with details is detailed in the instructions. The entire assembly process is shown in the pictures.
