You are bidding on a
Set of FOUR Quimper-style Coffee Mugs
in lightly cleaned, as found condition.
These are presumed to be 1930s French Quimper-Style Faience Ironstone Mugs
Features a yellow band around the rim with Majolica style hatch markings and design of a “Petit Breton” peasant couple wearing traditional costume, painted in the style of Henriot Quimper.
Marked on the bottom "Hand Painted". There are no apparent makers marks.
Antique condition. Each mug has uniform crazing throughout, shelf wear, and very light staining on the interior. Two mugs have a thin vertical hairline crack approx 1" long at the rim (see pictures). Another mug has two small fleabite chips on the rim (see picture) No other cracks, chips, or repairs are apparent.
Each measures approx 3 1/2" tall, 3" across the rim, and 4 1/2" including the handle.
