    Description

    Besides the relatively hard to find topics and illustrations on these ads,
    serious collectors have the date and publication name authenticated on the top border of the front (recto),
    and the back (verso) also has the publication as well as the month of the journal.
    Interesting source of medical history at the turn of the century just before the Pure Food and Drug Act went into effect in 1906.

    Authentic and Genuine Full Page Ad
    Showing a hospital scene described below it as being
    "administering Walton's Oxygen Compound in a case of Pneumonia"
    Walton's Compound which was a Proprietary Mixture
    of Oxygen, Nitrous Oxide, and Ozone with a fantastic "hospital scene" showing an attending physician, anesthesiologist, another physician, and two nuns or "sisters of mercy" which were usually nurses.
    Full page measures 9.25" x 6"
    Creamy age toning is evenly distributed on the paper except for a slightly darker color at the edges.
    The text of the ad goes into detail about their "Private Ambulance and Invalid Coach Service subject to call day or night."
    The back side (verso" of the page advertises three types of
    P. C. Lorenz Anesthesia Inhalers with steel engravings
    "the only inhalers on the market that may be used for every general anesthetic. individually or in combination..."
    One of the more common mixtures in anesthesiology combinations were ether and chloroform.
